It’s easy to set up and use a USB keyboard or mouse on your phone, but it requires a special OTG (On-The-Go) cable. Luckily, you can purchase one through Amazon for less than two dollars. You’ll need a micro USB version. Once you have an OTG cable, follow the steps below to set up a keyboard and/or mouse on your phone.
Plug the OTG cable into your phone.
Plug a USB keyboard, mouse, or combo into the other end of the OTG cable.
That’s all. If you set up a keyboard, you’ll be able to use it to type anytime. If you set up a mouse, you’ll see a pointer icon on your phone that you can move around and click with. If you set up a keyboard/mouse combo you’ll be able to do both.
There might not be many reasons to use a USB keyboard or mouse on your phone, but if you pair this setup with an HDMI cable to a big screen, the result is amazing—50-inch Angry Birds is intense!
