Calls dropping directly to voice mail

I was in a location in which I just successfully made a (wifi) call out. The person I had called returned my call, and it went directly to voice mail, without ringing on either end.

Hello Nancy,

If your calls happen to go straight to voice mail. Please try the steps below.

Open the phone app
Touch the three stacked dots in the top right and select settings
Scroll all the way to the bottom and select accounts
Uncheck receive incoming calls and then recheck it

I think in general this can happen with cell phone calls when two parties are trying to reach each right at the same time. I have noticed odd behavior with scratch wireless specifically myself, and I have not been able to figure out what is causing it. For example, sometimes while on a call I the other party will stop hearing me (I can still hear them), then I receive an inbound call from them which I can answer and be on the call twice. Once I was able to join the two calls together and things continued to work fine, but usually we both end up disconnecting and one of us calls the other back. Sometimes that call back results in the same issue you described, but I think that usually happens because we're both calling each other at the same time.

Perry,

Mine turned out to be a programming issue - I ultimately had to restore the original factory settings. It wasn't an occasional thing. I had never received a call. All calls were dropping directly to voice mail. It was missing a SIP account (or lost it in porting my old number to this phone). I suspected that issue before I received a call from someone at Scratch Wireless who did some troubleshooting and confirmed my suspicion.

I'm glad you were able to resolve the issue! Especially since it was doing this for you with every call.

I don't think I reset to factory settings since my phone# was ported. I may have to try that to see if it resolves some of the odd behavior I sometimes seem to encounter.
